Kathmandu Nagarkot Experiance Tour
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu | Welcome to the Himalayan Gateway
- Upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, complete the immigration process at the airport.
- Meet our local representative who will help you in your transfer to the hotel.
- Complete the check-in formalities and rest for some time.
- The rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore Kathmandu – the political capital and cultural heart of Nepal.
- Overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu | Explore 4 UNESCO World Heritage Sites
- Post breakfast in the morning, and get ready to explore Kathmandu.
- Our first stop of the day is the famous Jal Narayan Temple, popularly known as Budhanilkantha Temple, which is a Hindu open-air temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu in reclining position.
- Next, visit one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimage sites – the Pashupatinath temple, where the holy sadhus pray and cremations take place along the Bagmati river.
- You will then continue to the holiest shrine for the Buddhist culture in Nepal – the Boudhanath Stupa where thousands of pilgrims from different religions gather here daily to perform a ritualistic circumnavigation.
- Then, you will be taken to Patan (earlier called Lalitpur) which is separated from Kathmandu only by the Bagmati River and is the second largest town in the valley.
- Visit Patan’s central Durbar Square which is an architectural center point with a far greater concentration of temples per sq. meter than in Kathamandu or Bhaktapur.
- Within the city also lies the Tibetan refugee center, home to most of the valley’s Tibetan population. While technically refugees, the Tibetans are some of the wealthiest people in the valley because of the carpet industry they operate. For those looking to bring home a fine Tibetan carpet, this is the place to shop.
- You will then go to Swayambhunath the golden spire of the 5th-century Swayambhu stupa is adorned with a colorful fluttering of prayer flags; it crowns a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley and offers fantastic views over the city of Kathmandu. Swayambhunath is one of the most recognizable symbols in Nepal and the painted eyes of Buddha watch all who ascend the worn stone steps.
- Return back to the hotel for an overnight stay in Kathmandu.
Day 3: Leisure Day in Kathmandu | Go on a shopping spree
- Wake up to a beautiful morning in Kathmandu.
- Have a hearty breakfast in the hotel and spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
- You can walk around Kathmandu Durbar Square known for its beautiful architecture. The Kumari Mahal is a residence of the living goddess of Nepal.
- Relish your taste buds with some local delicacies to get a complete cultural experience.
- In the evening you go shopping in the Thamel market and buy some souvenirs for your loved ones.
- Return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Drive to Nagarkot via Bhaktapur | Take a closer look at the mighty Himalayan peaks
- After having your breakfast at the hotel, start your journey towards Nagarkot which will take approx 1.5 hrs (32kms) from Kathmandu.
- On the way, after 17 km, take a short stopover in Bhaktapur, a city that still gives out the distinct medieval feel with Pottery and weaving still being the traditional industries here, even today.
- Visit Kailashnath Mahadev Statue in Sanga, situated on the border of Bhaktapur. It is one of the tallest Shiva temples in the world.
- Bhaktapur also houses some of the marvelous architectural wonders like 55 Windows palace, Golden Gate, and the magnificent five-storied pagoda-style Nyatapola Temple.
- Reach Nagarkot by evening which is famous for offering the broadest views of the Highest Himalayan Ranges.
- Overnight stay at the hotel in Nagarkot.
Day 5: Departure | Bid Farewell with a lot of memories
- Wake up early in the morning to see the sunrise and the glowing golden Himalayan peaks as painted by the sun’s rays.
- Have a heart breakfast at the hotel and start your journey back.
- Your amazing Nepal tour concludes as you get dropped off at the Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey.
